What is MusoFinder and is it really free?
MusoFinder is a community of musicians, built by musicians for musicans to help musicians find musicians. It's really quite simple!

How does it work?
Visitors are encouraged to look around the site, search for musicians and bands, listen to MP3s, watch videos, read wanted ads and our forums. If they then wish to contact another member, post a wanted ads or use the forums they must sign up. Signing up to MusoFinder is free, quick and easy.

Ok, so what do I do when I'm registered?
Once you are registered you can set up your own musician, band or industry profile, upload your music, videos, post wanted ads, events and chat on the forums until your heart's content! If you want to contact other members or reply to message then you'll have to upgrade to Access Membership. Access Membership is only £4.95 or $8.95 for 90 days access.

What is My Contacts?
My Contacts is a powerful and fun feature to MusoFinder where you can add your favourite contacts, from within the MusoFinder community and beyond, to your contact list. The fun part of My Contacts is to see how large and how fast you can make your contact list, and compete with other members.

How do Gold members benefit from My Contacts?
From the contact list, Gold members can perform useful functions such as Group Messaging and other organisational features.

I've accepted an invitation but nothing happens?
If you accept an invitation, you are allowing that person to add you to their contact list, so nothing will happen for you, unless you invite them too. So simple click their username, and add them aswell.

I'm not a Gold member, do I get the numbers by my name also?
Yes. Every member has their contact number shown by their username, however members with no contacts and Staff members will not have a visible contact number by their name.

Can I invite my friends who aren't on MusoFinder to join my contact list?
Yes! This is one of the powerful features to My Contacts - you can invite your musician contacts from outside of MusoFinder, and give them an insentive to join - to network with you online! To do this make sure you are logged in and go to 'My Contacts'. Then click on 'Invite your contacts'.

I haven't received a verification email, what do I do?
This could be for a number of reasons. It could be the spam filter on your email blocking emails from MusoFinder. Go into your junkmail inbox and see if the verification email is in there. If it is unblock it. It could also because you are using a free email account and your inbox is full. If you are still having problems, please contact us.

I can't log in to my account, what do I do?
Try lowering the security settings on your browser and/or firewall to allow cookies. This will hopefully allow you to create a session on your browser and therefore log you in to the site securely.

I've forgotten my username
Use the forgotten password page and enter your email address to reset your password. An email will come through that will start ‘Dear username’. Guess what? This is your username!

If you can't remember your password you can reset it here. If you still can't log in read this.

Can I change my email address?
Yes! Make sure you're logged in and go to 'My Details' and type in your preferred email address. Then click 'update details' at the bottom of the page.

I want to change my username
We cannot change usernames at this time. Please contact us and we will delete your old account in order for you to register a new account. If you are a Gold member and want your membership to be transferred to a new account then this can be done.

I have my verification email, but the activation link doesn't work
Depending on how you get your emails this could be for a number of reasons. Sometimes the link doesn't look like a link and you will have to copy and paste the entire address into your browsers' address bar. Also, check that the link isn't broken over two lines.

How do I delete a wanted ad?
Make sure you're logged in and go to 'My Wanted Ads' on the user menu. Click the 'delete'.

I've found what I wanted, so please delete my account
To make it easier if you wish to return to the site in the future please consider setting your 'availability', 'allow contact' and 'email notifications' to 'no'. This means you will no longer be contacted by any other members. You can do this by logging in and going to 'My Details'.
If you still want to leave us completely please contact us.

How do I place a wanted ad?
Make sure you're logged in and go to 'My Wanted Ads'. Then click the 'Add new ad' button. Simply fill in the fields and hit 'Create Wanted Muso Ad'.

How do I contact other members?
To contact another member you must first sign up. Once you are registered simply search for the member you are looking for and click on their username (making sure you are logged in!) This will take you to their profile. On their profile there should be a button that says 'Contact this user'.

How do I change my profile?
Make sure you're logged in and go to 'My Profile(s) and click edit next to the profile you wish to change. Update your profile and then click 'Edit profile'.

How do I change my skill level?
Edit your profile. Make sure you are logged in and go to 'My Profile(s)' and click 'edit' next to the profile you wish to change the skill-level on. Change your skill level on click 'Edit profile' and the bottom of the page.

I can't read my emails!
Please make sure you are clicking on the message as opposed to the username of the person who sent the message. If you still have problems, please contact us.

Why hasn't my new avatar been updated after I've changed it?
Try hitting refresh after you've uploaded the avatar. If this doesn't work, you will probably find that you have the old image cached. Delete your browser cache by going to Tools > Internet Options > Delete temporary internet files. Then hit refresh. If you still aren't successful, please contact us.

How do I set up an email alert that notifies me when a new member joins who fits what I'm looking for?
Log in a go to 'My Alerts' and click 'Create a new email alert'. Tip: don't make your alerts too specific. The system works like the search engine, so if your alert has the tags 'drummer bassist electric gloucestershire london', then it's likely you won't get many alerts. Instead try using just the tags 'drummer london' and THEN create another alert with 'bassist gloucestershire'.

How do I get rid of email notifications?
If you would like to stop all notifications (including emails to say that you have received a message from another member) then please go to 'My Details' and switch 'Email notifications?' to 'no,' then update your changes. If you don't want to receive forum notifications, then go to the topic you have posted on, then click on 'unsubscribe' at the top of the forum thread.

How do I cancel my subscription to Gold membership?
You can cancel your subscription at any time and your account will remain Gold for the period which you have paid for. To cancel your subscription just log into your Paypal account and find the subscription item (by searching history) then click on More Details and then Cancel, our system will do the rest. If you want we can cancel for you if you get really stuck, just contact support.
